Power outages are impacting cement production

The drop in cement output has been attributed by cement producers in the Tororo District, Uganda, to the erratic power supply that has been present since the beginning of this month. Because of the outages, prices have been increasing, writes News Vision. According to plant authorities, Tororo Cement, one of the top manufacturers in the nation, has seen a fall in output of nearly 50 percent since it peaked at 1.2 million tonnes per year.

According to Darmandra Pratap Singh, manager of Instrumentation, the issue at Tororo Cement began on January 5 when electricity transmission was completely shut off for five days.
