CW Research: Green petcoke production increases in December in China
Green petcoke production strengthened both month-on-month and year-on-year, posting a 9.1% MoM increase and a 5.6% YoY expansion
Green petcoke production in China increased to 28. million tons in December, up 9.1% from 25.7 million tons in November. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production rose from 26.6 million tons, up by 5.6%. For the year-to-date through December, green petcoke production was up by 2.75 million tons or 0.9%, totaling 301.7 million tons for the first twelve months of the year.
Green petcoke production in Beijing improved 48.3% month-on-month in December, reaching 430,000 tons. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production decreased by 1.8% from when it was 23. million tons.
Green petcoke production in Tianjin dropped 2.1% month-on-month in December, reaching 940,000 tons. Year-on-year, green petcoke production fell 0.0% from 940,000 tons.
Green petcoke production in Hebei strengthened 9.4% month-on-month in December, reaching 700,000 tons. Year-on-year, green petcoke production rose 32.1% from 530,000 tons.
Green petcoke production in Liaoning improved to 2.55 million tons in December, up 2.8% from 2.48 million tons in November. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production decreased from 2,840,000 tons, down by 10.2%.
Green petcoke production in Jilin strengthened 5.0% month-on-month in December, reaching 210,000 tons. Year-on-year, green petcoke production rose 5.0% from 200,000 tons.
Green petcoke production in Heilongjiang dropped by 11.1% to 160,000 tons during the month of December compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, green petcoke production fell 11.1% from 180,000 tons.
In December, green petcoke production in Shanghai posted a 12.7% month-on-month growth in December, reaching 1.33 million tons. Year-on-year, green petcoke production fell 4.3% from 1.39 million tons.
In December, green petcoke production in Jiangsu posted a 11.7% month-on-month increase in December, reaching 2.01 million tons. Year-on-year, green petcoke production improved 57.0% from 1.28 million tons.
Green petcoke production in Zhejiang posted a 25.8% month-on-month increase in December, reaching 2.44 million tons. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production increased by 1.7% from when it was 2.4 million tons.
In December, green petcoke production in Jiangxi posted a 14.3% month-on-month expansion in December, reaching 320,000 tons.

Green petcoke production in Guangdong rose by 16.9% to 2.77 million tons during the month of December compared to the previous month, when it was 2.37 million tons. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production rose by 38.5% from when it was 2.0 million tons.
Green petcoke production in Guangxi decreased by 15.7% to 430,000 tons during the month of December compared to the previous month. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production strengthened from 330,000 tons, up by 30.3%.
Green petcoke production in Gansu weakened to 360,000 tons in December, down 0.0% from 360,000 tons in November. Compared to the same period last year, green petcoke production increased by 16.1% from when it was 310,000 tons.
