Dangote Cement Plc has reported impressive performance in its pan-African operations for the first half of 2023.

{reg}The sales volume for its pan-African operations increased by 11.6 percent, reaching 5.4 million metric tons (Mt) compared to 4.9Mt in H1 2022. The pan-African region encompasses all the company's cement plant operations outside Nigeria.
The company's total group sales volume during the same period stood at 13.4Mt. The robust performance is attributed to strong demand, particularly in Ethiopia, Senegal, Zambia, and Congo. As a result, pan-African revenues saw a remarkable growth of 81.8 percent to N336.4 billion, and group revenue rose by 17.7 percent to N950.8 billion.
Recurring profit after tax increased by 37.4 percent to N292.2 billion, while profit after tax rose by 3.8 percent to N178.6 billion. Pathak mentioned that the currency devaluation in mid-June affected volume recovery and increased operating costs. However, he emphasized the remarkable improvement in the company's pan-African operations. Dangote Cement has commenced operations at the 0.4Mta grinding plant in Ghana, and the 1.5Mta grinding plant in Cote d'Ivoire is on track for completion.
The company remains focused on strategic growth priorities and its vision of transforming Africa and building a sustainable future. Despite potential macroeconomic challenges, Pathak expressed confidence in Dangote Cement's resilience and ability to overcome them. With operations in multiple African countries and a capacity of 52.0Mta across the continent, Dangote Cement continues to lead as Africa's prominent cement producer.{/reg}
