Mexico-based Cemex is planning to sell cement or set up a greenfield cement plant in Cuba, reports Terra. The new cement plant will help fulfil the local demand for cement and also plans to export cement.

"The Caribbean is an attractive region for us. We have searched doing business in that area for many years and are still interested. The case of Cuba is no exception. Yes, we are interested," said Fernando González, CEO of Cemex.

The cement company will carry out a feasibility report before entering the Cuban market.
