Against a landscape of political turmoil, Egypt's economy struggles to find its footing on a road to sustainable recovery. Potential growth opportunities, however, are notable in key industries including construction, lending hope for a more stable recovery in 2013.

Following the revolution in Egypt and the consequent resignation of Hosni Mubarak as president in February 2011, the country began an uphill battle of implementing political and economic reforms in order to provide more opportunities to most of the population, who suffer from unemployment and poverty.
